Package: adduser
Version: 3.48
Severity: normal

If I run 'adduser foo' and /home/foo already exists, nothing is done
about the directory. However, if /home/foo exists with inappropriate
permissions, an X login will be impossible. Please give some kind of
warning/info about the situation from adduser.

(The old directory was for me a leftover from earlier adduser foo and
deluser foo with an adduser bar in between).

/Micce

This is fixed in one of Jörg's patches that found their way into
adduser up to version 3.70.

Greetings
