Please try "/usr/sbin/adduser somename".

If that doesn't work, please re-try with an english locale.

Dnd if that doesn't work, please execute
strace -f -s 2000 -o strace.adduser /usr/sbin/adduser somename
and send the gzipped strace.adduser file in private mail.

This is the only case where the code in line 125 is actually supposed
to be executed. But it shouldn't trigger that error in the first place.
