Would it be possible for you to try the newer version of
rescan-scsi-bus.sh, available at http://www.garloff.de/kurt/linux/
(more specifically,
http://www.garloff.de/kurt/linux/rescan-scsi-bus.sh-1.48 ) - it's
designed to work on newer kernels without /proc/scsi/scsi. It works
fine on my system with a mixture of SCSI HBAs, but I haven't tested it
using your LSI SAS HBA.
