I have committed a bunch of stuff to CVS:
1. Global definitions of language and modules are now done in
sql/Makefile.defs; this is now the only file that an installer should
need to edit.
2. I have sorted out the structure of adding extra languages: the base
language is used for all SQL comments, constraint names and error
messages (these are built into the SQL definitions, so they cannot be
varied on the fly). The translation table allows look-up items to have
descriptions in varying languages; the one displayed by the associated
view is the one that matches the user's recorded preference. These
other languages are defined in the EXTRA_LANGS string in Makefile.defs
3. I have put in place the basic structure for running functions for
national tax.
4. I have begun the definition of a chart of accounts for British
limited companies. A chart involves the creation of subheadings (in
subhead and subhead_line) and of general ledger accounts that are
attached to those subheadings.
5. The docs/en versions of advacs.html are up-to-date for each module,
but advacs.dia still needs to be updated.
The SQL structures should not yet be regarded as stable, because
practical use and required interaction with other modules tend to reveal
problems that must be sorted out by structural changes.
