This symptoms look very much like http://bugs.debian.org/717832 . You
might see this "aborts after 5-10 downloads" because apt operates with
multiple downloaders simultaneously and the remote connection pooling
had a bug so the reusing fails and the connection gets closed.
Solution: upgrade to 0.7.16 or newer.
OR workaround: set ReuseConnections:0 in your config. This shouldn't
impact the performance for you much since your remotes disconnect very
quickly anyway.
