That is indeed a clean solution.

What I understood from #342101 is that the submitter is happy
with "apt-proxy responses to all hostnames"

For me is the "apt-proxy responses to all hostnames" important,
I hope apt-proxy will keep that behaviour/feature when
it get's "true proxy support".
