autopkgtest git not readable

The problem still persists:

$ git clone git+ssh://git.debian.org/git/autopkgtest/autopkgtest.git
Cloning into autopkgtest...
fatal: '/git/autopkgtest/autopkgtest.git' does not appear to be a git repository
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
