there is a link to "Download Axel 2.4 axel-2.4.tar.gz". The link is:

http://alioth.debian.org/frs/download.php/3015/axel-2.4.tar.gz

This link does not work because it uses an old-style URL. The new URL is:

https://alioth.debian.org/frs/download.php/file/3015/axel-2.4.tar.gz

This doesn't work either, and neither do any of the other download links. They display the following message:

"You've been redirected to this login page because you have tried accessing a page that was not available to you as an anonymous user."

This happens even if I have already logged in to alioth; however, logging in is inconvenient and should not be required. For example, the MacPorts package management system would like to be able to automatically download your files, and it cannot do so if you require someone to manually log in first:
