[Bash-completion-devel] Bug#558127: bash-completion causes 'bash: [: too many arguments' messages

After the yesterday upgrade of the bash-completion package, every
start of bash produces 3 messages 'bash: [: too many arguments'.

Removing

| if [ -f /etc/bash_completion ]; then
|     . /etc/bash_completion

from ~/.bashrc stops the messages.
