Doh, I didn't remember I have already filed a bug for this earlier; it just 
only semi-recently started to actually bite here when I upgraded to Fedora 11.

If nobody can remember/decipher exactly what the problematic commit was 
supposed to fix, I suggest we just revert it and see what breaks.
