Initial Comment:
Slackware 13.0 recently switched to the txz format which uses xz compression. There are still packages that use the original tgz (with gzip compression) (e.g. the xz and gzip packages are still using tgz).

The attached patch adds support for txz while keeping tgz support.

In the future, please commit your changes locally and use git format-patch to generate patches instead of doing git diffs - in addition to being slightly easier for us, that'll take care of appropriate credits for your contributions automatically.
