I'm getting this error in also in the version mentioned above.

To reproduce:
$/usr/bin/python <TAB here>

Expected:
- List of files

Result:
$/usr/bin/python bash: COMP_WORDS: bad array subscript

Extra info:
- /usr/bin/python is a link:
  - $ls -l /usr/bin/python
  - lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Dec 31 01:36 /usr/bin/python -> python2.6
