Just trying to reproduce Marius' bug, I installed pdns-recursor:

$ sudo apt-get install pdns-recursor
[..]
$ dpkg -P pd<TAB>
pdftk          pdns-recursor
$

So it's working here.

Other than this, I would suggest to do a "set -x", and then "dpkg -P
pdns-<TAB>", and paste the output in this bugreport. It smells much like a
configuration problem to me.
