That should be done in 4632248cbbc63f140a9e137e889e0185de8d7b54 .

The only place where $BASH_COMPLETION was really "necessary" was in
bash_completion.sh.in; I workarounded it with a check on
BASH_COMPLETION_COMPAT_DIR, but I don't particularly like it.

Maybe we can just set the version number (this was filed in the tracker by
someone), and use it to check whether bashcomp is already sourced?


Also, I moved helpers/ out of completions/, to be more in-line with what gets
installed onto the system at "make install"-time.
