Hello,
there seems to be a typo in `test/Makefile.am': in `all' target the `mkdir_p' variable is used but only `MKDIR_P' would be defined. I attach patch to fix the variable case.

It is not a typo, mkdir_p should still be defined as of automake 1.12.x. It is deprecated and will be removed in automake 1.13 though so we'd be better off moving to MKDIR_P, but properly implemented I believe that needs AC_PROG_MKDIR_P (autoconf >= 2.60).

as per: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bash-completion/+bug/89091
Typing "prg $HOME/" expands to "prg \$HOME/" quite annoying, shall expand to "prg $HOME/" listing all directories and files available for expansion, not creating an escaped string from $HOME. It should KEEP $HOME, not expanding it to your home directory as with some program named done!
still present in 1.90 release

Hello people,
I'm working on a release of bash-completion, namely 2.0.
This will be the last commit of the release (apart from bugfixes):
> commit 709d6e06902df7205280d0626995fc5b6abe6e89
> Author: Ville Skytt?

I've merged master into 2.x. Please continue development only on master, I'll
cherry-pick fixes to 2.x if needed. The branch will stay frozen for a couple of
days, i.e. I plan to do the release early next week.
Thanks for all your work!
Have a nice day,
David

One candidate I forgot about but have been eyeballing and using for a
while is now committed to master (commit
89acac9910a27cc9428314e66c3bdbfc48c65f41, Debian #666055). Sorry about
forgetting about this, but no big deal if you want to skip it for 2.0.

/etc/profile.d/bash_completion.sh does not work for non-login
shells (e.g., screen, xterm)
Message-ID: <20120619182822.12903.91991.reportbug@grubby.stderr.nl>
Package: bash-completion
Version: 1:1.99-3
Severity: minor
Hi folks,
as was already mentioned in an aside in #593835: It's nice that
bash_completion is now enabled by default through /etc/profile.d, but
this only works for login shells. In particular, shells running in a
screen session or a terminal emulator like xterm, don't get bash
completion enabled right now.
This can cause confusion for users, when completion works in one shell,
but not the other. Also, when trying to fix this by enabling
bash_completion in /etc/bash.bashrc, it is enabled twice for login
shells, leading to extra login delays (though it seems
/etc/profile.d/bash_completion bails out if it's already loaded, so I
guess I've imagined this...).
I am aware that this issue is ultimately caused by how /etc/profile[.d]
works, and I do not know of any way to easily fix this (but that doesn't
mean there is none).
It seems to me that the best place to put the enabling code is in
/etc/bash.bashrc, but that's of course not up to the bash-completion
package.
One thing that springs to mind is to have bash offer an
/etc/bash.bashrc.d directory similar to /etc/profile.d, so
bash-completion can ship a hook in there instead of in /etc/profile.d.
Seems there's already a wishlist bug for that against bash: #675008.

I can't reproduce this.
Could you please do a "set -x", and then "aptitude purge "? (don't press
TAB to complete "aptitude" or "purge", otherwise your debug output would get
messy)
Thanks,
David

Hi David
I attempted to reproduce the problem to provide the debug output you
requested.
I could not reproduce it in a new terminal. So I returned to the original
and the problem was there. However upon closing and reopening it the
problem went away.
So I suggest closing the bug as unreprucible.
Sorry for wasting your time.

Subject: [Bash-completion-devel] ls completion different from cd completion
Message-ID: <20120627002121.0ad506bb@babalu.inexo.com.br>
Hi All
I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04LTS to 12.04LTS and notice that bash
completion is a little different.
Back in 10.04 if I type:
"ls /us[TAB] I get "ls /usr/"
now in 12.04 if I type the same
"ls /us[TAB]" I get "ls /usr " (notice the blank at the end, instead of slash)
but "cd /us[TAB]" gives "cd /usr/" in both versions.
The old behavior let me type something like
"ls /fi[TAB]se[TAB]th[TAB]so[TAB]" and get "/first/second/third/somefile".
Now I have to type
"ls /fi[TAB][BACKSPACE]/se[TAB][BACKSPACE]/th[TAB][BACKSPACE]/so[TAB]".
Annoying, isn't it?
This is the same (like ls) behavior for mv, cp, mkdir, etc.
How do I get the old behavior (10.04) back?
Any other info I can send you to help me with this?
Regards
Ethy

Dear,
We are a manufacturer of stainless steel cookware/kettle in mainland,
China, since 1992. Now, we have 20-year experience in production and
exportation of these products.
Our clients are all over the world, like Target in USA, Viners in UK,
Walmart in South America, Lifetime Brands in USA, Ibili in Spain, etc.
Here comes our new model for your reference.
Color soft-touch handles and knobs, amazing, attractive and fashionable;
Good quality stainless steel in heavy gauge, with double spouts on pot or
pan;
Heavy and thick bottom provides the best heat distribution;
Clear glass lid with two-side straining holes, easily water pouring without
lifting the lid.
