[Bash-completion-devel] Bug#706502: bash-completion: Stray "Invalid regular expression" error

Package: bash-completion
Version: 1:2.0-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

Typing

apt-get remove man[

and then pressing TAB results in the following error message appearing:
grep-status: Invalid regular expression

Note that this bug does not happen if you instead type

apt-get install man[

(In case you're wondering: I discovered this by accident: While
experimenting I tried typing apt-get -s remove manp<TAB> to see what would
happen if I removed the manpage package, but I accidentally typed '[' instead
of 'p', at which point this bug was triggered.)
