You are absolutely right of course. This was a mistake on my part, my
grep-foo was too weak and I matched
  bash-completion: /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/pgrep
  util-linux: /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/pg
which is of course non-sense.

The only conflicting file is
============================================
/usr/share/bash-completion/completions/dmesg
============================================


I've also CCed the bash-completion bug.

Dear bash-completion maintainers, please only drop
/usr/share/bash-completion/completions/dmesg
from the bash-completion package.
