[Bash-completion-devel] Bug#742054: bash-completion: completion of python script names does not work

Package: bash-completion
Version: 1:2.1-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have just made a dist-upgrade and the new version of bash_completion
has problems with proposing reasonble completions for python
scripts. Previously, when I typed

$ python [TAB] [TAB]

I got the list of python scripts in the current directory. Now I
simply get nothing. It seems the bug persists even if I specify a directory, e.g.:

$ python ~/foo/bar/[TAB]

Nothing at all. I briefly inspected the "python" bash_completion
module in /usr/share/bash-completion/completions and it seems that it
is now looking for modules, instead than standalone scripts. And this
is very annoying, indeed.
