In my view, creating a blend is (or should be) mostly about putting 
eisting pieces of Debian together - if pieces are missing then sure some 
of those same people enthusiastic about the blend might take on the 
tasks of packaging those parts, but those are *different* tasks from the 
one of blending.

So sounds like you are perfectly fit for working here - please stop 
excusing yourself ;-)
