Those changes were probably OK, and I have no problem with you doing the 
upload.  I'm just a little bit puzzled about how we're going to merge this 
into the SVN repository.  I suggest that we roll back the existing changes to 
version 0.4.42 (those changes need more discussion anyway, IMHO), install 
your patch to version 0.4.43, and then leave it there.  I also suggest for 
everyone that we don't do any aggressive changes for a while to leave room 
for quick uploads during the Python transition.  I have seen some additional 
feedback on some Python-related bugs since the upload, but you are probably 
better equipped to comment on them.

Maybe the present alioth admin can comment on how to proceed if the project 
admins have gone missing.
