I can't reproduce that.  All the uploads are built in a pbuilder 
environment anyway, so this surprises me.  I suggest that you verify 
your pbuilder configuration, because I've never seen these lines:

> rm: cannot remove `/tmp/buildd/cdbs-0.4.36/test/workdir/cdbs/._d': Is

> rm: cannot remove
> `/tmp/buildd/cdbs-0.4.36/test/workdir/cdbs/debian/cdbs': Is a

etc.

Running the recursive.sh test by hand might also give more information.
