[Build-common-hackers] Bug#391326: cdbs: should have a mode like svn-buildpackage "mergeWithUpstream"

Package: cdbs
Version: 0.4.46
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

I was working on a package that requires updating
config.guess/config.sub, so it needs to add autotools-dev to the control
files.

But, i use the option mergeWithUpstream of svn-buildpackage, which
permit to store the tarball in another svn directory. At build time, the
tarball is uncompressed in a new dir, the debian directory is copied
there, and dpkg-buildpackage is called. Which means in most case, cdbs
doesn't see the difference.

BUT when updating debian/control, i call the command from the versionned
root directory (trunk/), where the upstream tarball is not uncompressed.
So cdbs doesn't find config.guess/config.sub and don't add
autotools-dev.

It should be great to be able to use the same command as tarball.mk but
only for the update of control... and it will solve this issue.

Kind regard
Sylvain Le Gall
