Package: cdbs
Version: 0.4.52
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

Not even a month before I started to co-maintaining the grub and grub2 packages
with Robert Millan, so I'm still new to this debian/ stuff.

We have a 9 month bug old filed against grub2 that the package wastes CPU cycles
of the autobuilders: #450505

The problem is that grub2 doesn't use any stamps in debian/rules.
I'm very new to this debian/ stuff and dh-make seems to be creating these stamp
rules by default, as can bee seen on the new maint. packaging guide.

I noticed that dpkg-buildpackage calls ./configure 12 times in the beginning and
13 times in the end.
But we only have 8 .debs generated of it and we would even only need to run
../configure 5 times.

Robert and me both think that this belongs more to the build system used in
Debian, then that every package itself has to implement stamps.
