Thanks for clarifying.

Essentially CDBS is about isolating common patterns. (that's the "C" in
the name).

There are relatively clear patterns of how to refresh some common
autotools parts. There is (to my knowledge) no similarly clear patterns
of how to bootstrap projects either distributed non-bootstrapped
upstream or grabbed from a VCS snapshot.

kannel-sqlbox is an example of using autoreconf (which should also
invoke autopoint - supposedly the successor of gettextize)

gmerlin-avdecoder is a newer, slightly more compact example of using
"touch aclocal.m4" and tuning a couple of autotools options (not sure if
that will cover your need or not).

I suggest look at those and tell me if such approaches are acceptable to
you, and we can close this bugreport.

If not acceptable, then please help convince me of some "common pattern"
in this (including the cleanup routines!), or we will most likely keep
the bugreport open but tag it as wontfix.

Regards,

 - Jonas
