Yes, just avoid it, that's fine.  If you do add it, you should make sure 
to also add any commits that have piled up before you.  Else I might 
miss it in my later updates.  So yeah, easiest is to just not touch the 
changelog file - and drop a note here on the list if you realise after 
commiting that you want e.g. a bug closure mentioned too.

I always chech and (semi-)autogenerate changelog, control file and 
copyright hints right before release.
