Jup, and cdbs respects it nicely as I found out. (It ignores it and the build 
succeeds.)

But there is another option to the same affect, DEBBUILDOPTS="-j4", which I 
had set in my local .pbuilderrc, which is not handled gracefully by cdbs and 
which causes it to fail to build.... so maybe you could handle that one too?
