Thanks, it looks great.  There may possibly be other places in the
code which needs fixing up for tilde in versions, but I think it
should be OK mostly.  It would be nice if all of this sort of regex
could be factored out so there was a single point to change them, but
that's something to leave for after etch.

I'm afraid I'm too busy with exams right now to test, apply and upload
it, so if anyone else could do that, that would be great.  Otherwise,
I won't be free until the 3rd of February.

If you would like to NMU sbuild in the meantime to ensure this is in
etch, please feel free if you've tested it.
