[buildd-tools-devel] Bug#662785: sbuild fails to build package when passed a directory

Package: sbuild
Version: 0.62.6-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
I'm trying to replace my pbuilder/cowbuilder based build-setup by
sbuild. Right now I have an issue when I try to build a package from a
debian source folder.
Reading the manpage, it seems that theres are two ways to call sbuild:
- sbuild foo.dsc
- sbuild folder
with a third form beeing just sbuild, where it uses $PWD as the
argument. It seems that those don't work, because sbuild tries to call
dpkg-source -b $PWD, which fails because it expects the orig.tar.gz to
be in the *current* folder, while the tarballs are usually in the parent
folder. A way to circumvent this is to call dpkg-source -b . instead of
dpkg-source -b $PWD.
I'm not too sure how pdebuild handles that but it does support this
mode.
Regards,
