[buildd-tools-devel] schroot, the future, Debian, GitHub and BitBucket

I briefly mentioned I was trialling this a few months back, but
now it's all set up, here's the detail:

For most of its life, schroot has been on Debian VCS infrastructure,
Arch, SVN and now Git. It started out of being a simple helper for
sbuild, but has grown into much more. It's also moved on from
being a Debian-specific tool as a low-level part of our build
intrastructure to a tool packaged by many other Linux distributions
and is also used on other non-Linux kernels by others, for all sorts
of diverse tasks.

I have migrated the schroot git repos on Alioth to GitHub and
also BitBucket:

https://github.com/codelibre-net/schroot
https://github.com/codelibre-net/schroot-dist-1x

https://bitbucket.org/codelibre/schroot
https://bitbucket.org/codelibre/schroot-dist

They are both mirrored so are the same code. You can fork schroot
on either service and submit pull requests etc.

You can of course continue to submit patches in the Debian BTS or
on this list, but this should open up schroot to the wider
community outside Debian, and I'd like to move actual development
work there (as opposed to Debian packaging).

At the moment, the Alioth repos are still kept in sync, but I'd
like to consider moving the debian packaging outside the primary
repo and having a formal upstream/downstream separation here,
which would leave the Alioth repo dedicated to Debian packaging.

Regards,
Roger
