1.7.x were/are experimental development releases.  It is fixed in 1.7.x, 
and 1.7.0 was uploaded to experimental for testing and recently removed, 
but it was not a production release.

I don't expect to be working on schroot in the near term.  If anyone 
wants to help turn 1.7.x into a stable 1.8.0 release then 
https://gitlab.com/codelibre/schroot is where to look if you want to get 
involved.
