At the moment I'm testing it too and my result is the contrary.

At least the Kubuntu version of KMail is a PITA. Sometimes, randomly  
received messages are duplicated (POP account or me, dunno what the others  
do use). If you write at the bottom of the editor window you need to  
manually scroll with each new line, it doesn't automatically follow the  
cursor. Filters do not work correctly. I don't know how to get  
longer/endless lines, when posting code. Evolution is less buggy and comes  
with more features.

When I recommended regarding to the used DE (KDE), I started testing it.  
Now  wouldn't recommend it anymore. It might be different for other  
distros.
