I'll have to disagree on this. Especially when you sort each list to a 
dedicated folder cross-posting can be very annoying. If it would be in 
the same folder any decent mailer would be able to detect the duplicate, 
but in separate folders you have to at least check the message (and 
follow-ups) to see if they were also cross-posted to a list you already 
read.

Something like notmuch could help in such scenarios, but at least 
notmuch is still not there.
