I read somewhere that Richard Stallman has also suffered this problem of
being suspected of being a drug user/trafficker just because of his
long hair/beard. You'd get sick of constantly being 'pulled up' at
customs.

This would IMHO, strengthen his resolve regarding the GPL and personal 
freedoms. :)
