Amazingly it seems to be a DBI issue as documented here:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13338308/perl-dbi-memory-leak,

But the solution does not seem to be reliable. Sometimes it works sometimes not.

I'll update you when I know more.
Hi Mariuz,

Your efforts over DBD::Firebird are really appreciated. Its come on big time since you started.

I've posted a leak on PerlMonks which is causing me big problems. I have a very database intensive application with heavy video usage, and my videos crash several times a day because of memory leaks (or so we believe). Of course it may be nothing to do with this, but until I eliminate the leaks, I can't really tell. Firebird is not the only problem. I have identified two packages which are leaking so far, and of course there may be others. But for the time being I need to fix these two.

Here is a link to my PerlMonks problem:

http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=1127483

Actually if you comment out ->execute and ->finish, it still occurs, so I guess it's the ->prepare statement.

Is it the same as this:

https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=81617?

If so I'd like to ask is there any chance of it being fixed in the next few days? If not do you know of a workaround?

Many thanks for your help.

Regards

Steve.
