What I have been thinking about is not a code freeze but a feature &
strings freeze.  I just looked at the latest release team schedule I was
able to find [1], and they were, in June, asking for a "very soft
freeze" in March 2008, calling for caution in new versions etc.  It
seems to me this looks like the earliest it makes sense for us to do the
freeze as well.

It still is a good idea to have a strings freeze well before dctrl-tools
is officially frozen in testing, so that we can get translations updated
through unstable.
