I did supply a possible patch. It's perfectly decent.
It's too bland and ordinary to call "great", but it certainly
does the job.

You don't need to apply it. You can instead consider
the source to be permanently contaminated, in which
case you need to immediately stop distributing it via svn.

(you ARE distributing it, and will continue distributing it
via svn history until svn gets reloaded with fresh source)
