Whose standard? IMO foo.d usually means "replacecement for config file
called foo which contents is now splitted into snippets in the foo.d
directory".

Sounds like a lot of overhead for the few lines of config defaults.

I still prefer /etc/wodim.conf and /etc/rscsi.conf.
