[Debburn-devel] cdrkit-1.1.6: wodim gets DVD+R max. writing speed wrong

I went through the cdrtools' announcement files and found this item in 
AN-2.01.01a10:

"Added a workaround for a NEC DVD firmwarebug that caused cdrecord to use the 
CD write speed instead of the DVD write speed."

In the source the author comments that NEC drives incorrectly return CD speed 
values in mode page 2A.

Can the changes be copied over to cdrkit without violating some cdrtools 
license?
