So I just finished setting up a new Lenova ThinkCenter desktop and wanted to
try buring a copy of memtest86+ on the new system to have a fallback for the
future. However, trying to record from k3b resulted in error messages
indicating my drive doesn't support TAO mode. So after some research, here
is what I have found:

OS: Gentoo x86, Kernel 2.6.20
cdrkit version 1.1.2

Output of 'wodib -v -checkdrive dev=/dev/cdrw'
TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM
scsidev: '/dev/cdrw'
devname: '/dev/cdrw'
scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2
Linux sg driver version: 3.5.27
Wodim version: 1.1.2
SCSI buffer size: 64512
atapi: 1
Device type : Removable CD-ROM
Version : 5
Response Format: 2
Capabilities :
Vendor_info : 'HL-DT-ST'
Identification : 'DVD-RAM GSA-H30N'
Revision : '1.04'
Device seems to be: Generic mmc2 DVD-R/DVD-RW.
Current: 0x0009 (CD-R)

Profile: 0x0009 (CD-R) (current)
Profile: 0x0008 (CD-ROM)
Profile: 0x0002 (Removable disk)
Using generic SCSI-3/mmc CD-R/CD-RW driver (mmc_cdr).
Driver flags : MMC-3 SWABAUDIO BURNFREE
Supported modes:
Drive buf size : 1114112 = 1088 KB
Beginning DMA speed test. Set CDR_NODMATEST environment variable if device
communication breaks or freezes immediately after that.
Drive DMA Speed: 86016 kB/s 488x CD 62x DVD

To my surprise, it seems there are NO supported modes listed. So...what's the
next thing I can do to help track this down?
