Drive works fine with CD-R and DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD+RW, so I think it was the
media damaged.

I'm confused here. Do growisofs and genisoimage both use wodim on backend to
write? growisofs man page says it's a front-end for genisoimage, genisoimage
says it must use other software for recording and mentions wodim by name. I
see no command line option or config file in the man page to select another
burn software?

Before, I used growisofs only, and it worked to burn iso images from HDD (both
Knoppix/bootable and DVD video isos). I did not use dvd+rw-format before, and
only encountered problems after I used it.
Should I bark on cdwrite [@] other.debian.org about the dvd+rw-format program
that breaks my DVD-RW? I see a lot of the same names in archives of both
lists, but that list is in the dvd+rw-format man page and this list in the
growisofs/genisoimage/wodim man pages. :p

Thanks for the explanation. :-)
