Hi,

(My apologies to cdrkit for not only stealing users but also
instigating them to overwrite genisoimage. :))

Consider to tell Mondorescue about your experience on Debian,
the availability of /usr/bin/xorrisofs, and my offer to give
support on mailing list bug-xorriso at gnu.org.

xorriso distro packages in most cases depend on libburn.so,
libisofs.so, libisoburn.so.
For using xorriso without installing .so files, there are the
GNU xorriso release tarballs in

  http://ftpmirror.gnu.org/xorriso/

Current is 1.4.2, but there are also 1.2.2 as of Wheezy and 1.3.4
as of Jessie.
For compilation see
  https://www.gnu.org/software/xorriso/README_xorriso
It's simple: untar, ./configure, make, use as xorriso/xorriso or
run "make install".

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
