Hi Marc,

In the 3-4 years, since you filed this bug, debhelper gained support for
"-indep" and "-arch" specific target overrides - a la:

"""
override_dh_auto_install-indep:
	# indep only

override_dh_auto_install-arch:
	# arch only
"""

Would you consider that sufficient (without the introduction of the
"dh_isindep" and "dh_isarch" scripts you suggested)?
