Oh, I seem to have missed that part. Nice.

sid's madwifi-source builds OK, but I am unable to try it as as soon 
as the system boots, it shuts down.

I saw something like "critical temperature reached(144C), shutting 
down" or a similar message. Could not tell who is that, though, 
perhaps some acpi-related package.

Anyway, thanks for the madwifi hint, I'll trace the 144 further. I 
certainly know others see it too, just have to figure out how to 
override it.
