This was thought of before, and it was concluded that the visual 
feedback the hardware gives by lowering/rising the brightness of the 
display is already sufficient.

OTOH, some will still find an explicit feedback useful (you certainly 
do :)), so if you make it configurable, I'd support the addition.

On a technical note, your patch is "cumulative" - it contains changes 
that are not relevant to the brightness control. Please use a separate 
git branch for each separate feature :)
