I have just finished installing compat-wireless-old (I understand now 
how .deb are useful...). It seems to work! I'm on a WPA-PSK-TKIP 
connection and the signal is much better. What a good news my eee is now 
free (oh no I've got flash-plugin). Thanks a lot for this work!
