Package: eeepc-acpi-scripts
Version: 1.0.10
Severity: normal

Hi,

Currently, eeepc-acpi-scripts conflict with acpi-support. I don't
think that's a good idea. The packages seem to do pretty much the same
thing, except that eeepc-acpi-scripts only apply to Eee PCs. Why not
merge the functionality of eeepc-acpi-scripts into acpi-support
instead?

Furthermore, acpi-support has some nice features that
eeepc-acpi-scripts lack, such as the ability to synthesize keyboard
events from ACPI events if a desktop environment is running. So it
can, for example, send volume keypresses to Gnome, which has built-in
functions for adjusting the volume and showing a meter.

But otherwise, thanks for your work on the Eee PC stuff, I do
appreciate it.
