Unfortunately the latter. So much for obfuscating and trying to get my
username out there. ;-) That search in Evolution’s message editor does
not start over at the beginning and just goes on from the cursor.

It is owned by by my user.
$ ls -l /home/paul/.Xauthority

I will try to investigate further on the weekend.
