[Debian-eeepc-devel] Debian Squeeze USB installer crashes on my Asus 701 EEE PC.

The Debian Squeeze installer USB stick crashes when I try to run it on
my EEE PC.

When I use the installer in my EEE PC, the installer pauses after I
select "Install", and a few seconds later garbage appears on the top
edge of the screen, dances around a while, then everything stops.
(Oddly, I successfully installed Debian on my PC with the same stick.)

To make myself an installer USB stick I followed the "Squeeze (testing)
using an updated d-i" instructions from here:

http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/HowTo/InstallUsingStandardInstaller

I'm pretty sure that I've foolowed the instructions correctly. I used
the versions of these files that existed on Saturday, September 11 2010:

http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/hd-media/boot.img.gz

http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/squeeze_di_alpha1/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso

Please help. I'm very keen on using Debian on my EEE PC, I've used it on
my desktop computers for years, I'm sure I'll be able to patiently set
things up once I'm past step 0.
