+ <title>The Future</title>

+ <title>Debian-NP GNU/Linux Distributions</title>
+
+ <para>The Debian-NP Bagunça team has actively continued work on
+ the projects described in the rest of the document. The future
+ will undoubtedly see continuing work on these projects initiated
+ during DebConf. As only one example, an installable version of
+ Debian-NP using the next generation Debian Installer will be
+ officially released in the near future. It is based on work begun
+ in Porto Alegre and through relationships fostered in that
+ period.</para>

+ <para>Additionally, the team identified a number of short-term
+ plans and goals:</para>
+

+ <para>Continue work on the installer, the package lists, and
+ package customization until the software becomes stable and usable
+ enough for us to use it ourselves;</para>

+ <para>Finish and begin testing the LDAP schema implementation
+ and user management tools;</para>
+ </listitem>

+ <para>Begin moving servers managed by Debian-NP developers to
+ a Debian-NP server solution to test in the real-world;</para>

+ <para>Create a pbuilder infrastructure to make a woody based
+ release of Debian-NP workstation;</para>

+ <para>Move our work to within the CDD infrastucture to allow
+ for re-branding and derivative customization of the Debian-NP
+ by other non-profits and other organizations;</para>

+ <para>Track, map, foster and contribute to the development of
+ software of specific interest to non-profits like member
+ management fundraising databases;</para>

+ <para>The Debian-NP team expects upcoming releases of
+ distributions for both servers and desktops in the very near
+ future based on work done in Porto Alegre.</para>

+ <para>Several important documentation projects were also
+ identified. These include:</para>

+ <para>A project to collect and share best practices from
+ non-profit users and to other users as a way of helping users
+ play a more active role in the project.</para>

+ the community of volunteers using the funding spent on the
+ this meeting as one example and Debian-NP as a larger setting

+ <para>Building off the thinking described in the last section and
+ the talk on financing volunteer projects given at FISL. The
+ Debian-NP project is interested in working on finding creative
+ ways to create a funding proposal for aiding in the continued
+ development on Debian-NP and in particular the Debian-NP server
+ project.</para>
