In my opinion this bugs severity should be raised to "serious" (as it makes
each package basically unusable) and then the bug should be cloned and
assigned to those five activity packages as well.
As it is, the packages in lenny are pretty much unusable. And thus, lenny
should be released without them. (*) (They will still available directly in
sid and also from jonas repositories for lenny and etch.)
We also can provide sugar backports (on backports.org) for lenny once the
packages have reached squeeze. (Which will happen after the lenny release.)
What do you think?

(*) of course, we could also try to persuade the release team that new
upstream versions of sugar are desirable for lenny. I'm not sure I agree.
(And new upstream versions are per default a "no" in a freeze, there are
exceptions, but..)
OTOH sugar has no reverse depends and 0.82 is definitly the best sugar release
to date.
